Each player must have their own valid USA Lacrosse membership for the season (through 6/1/26). Youth Membership $35 per player.

AGE RANGE GROUPINGS
Sacramento Lacrosse is adopting a 15 month age range for teams. Summer birthdates June-August may overlap to encourage participation with the player's class.
- 6U TK-Kinder (Age 5-6) Birthdates: 6/1/2020 - 8/31/2022
- 8U 1st-2nd Grade (Age 7-8) Birthdates: 6/1/2018 - 8/31/2020
- 10U 3rd-4th Grade (Age 9-10) Birthdates: 6/1/2016 - 8/31/2018
- 12U 5th-6th Grade (Age 11-12) Birthdates: 6/1/2014 - 8/31/2016
- 14U 7th-8th Grade (Age 13-14) Birthdates: 6/1/2012 - 8/31/2014
What if a player is eligible for two age-groupings?
If a player has a summer birthday that allows them to play in two different age groupings, it is recommended that they compete with their grade year class. This is best for player development and they will eventually be grouped with those players as they get older.
Are players allowed to play up?
Maybe! This is a decision made jointly between the player, parents, and the club.

Uniforms
The cost of uniforms are in addition to registration.
All New 10U-14U Players will need a uniform including Jersey and Shorts - $50 total.
Returning Players can purchase a new uniform or reuse their 2025/2026 Jersey ($28) and Shorts ($22).
All 8U players will need a jersey; shorts are optional.
No uniform is required for 6u.
Shooter shirts (athletic undershirts) are also offered and strongly encouraged for 10u/12u/14u players. Shooter Shirts are only required for 14u boys.
Uniform ordering is done during the registration process.
Ages
Sacramento Lacrosse supports youth ages 5-14.

When
SPRING SEASON
Sacramento Lacrosse Spring Season runs Feb 1st to the 3rd weekend in May.
OFF SEASON ACTIVITY
We support clinics and outreach programs in the off season to grow the game in our local communities.
Practices
LOCATION
Practice locations for the 2027 season will be determined based on teams formed and field availability. Sacramento Lacrosse is working to secure fields in locations such as Thomas Edison Language Institute and Umoja International Academy.
SCHEDULE
Teams practice twice a week at the discretion of the coaches.
Typical schedules are M/W or Tu/Th.
Games
LOCATION
Home games held at Encina High School turf field. Away games held at various locations throughout the Sacramento Metro Region.
Local parks and schools may be used for practice/games as supported by community and coach participation.
SCHEDULE
12U and 14U typically play 12 regular season games.
10U teams play about 8-10 regular season games.
8U teams have a shorter season and play about 6 games.
6u teams do not play games.
Extra Costs
Boys
10u/12u/14u Boys field players are required to use approved helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, arm pads, a mouthgaurd and a protective cup. Additional equipment costs include cleats and lacrosse stick. Goalies are also required to wear a helmet with face mask, a separate throat protector, padded gloves and a chest protector.
Sacramento Lacrosse has some limited used donated equipment available for loan but not enough for all players.
Girls
For 10u/12u/14u, minimal equipment is required in girls’ and women’s lacrosse due to its non-contact nature. A stick, mouthguard and protective eyewear are the only required items for most players. Headgear and close fitting gloves are optional for field players. Goalies are also required to wear a helmet with face mask, a separate throat protector, padded gloves and a chest protector.
Loaner sticks are available for 10u lacrosse.
8u
For 8u lacrosse, only a mouthguard is required in addition to registration. Loaner sticks are available for 8u lacrosse.
